Cremation

We offer many service options with cremation. Arrange for a traditional funeral service followed by cremation, a memorial service, a catered gathering, or a celebration of life. Our funeral directors will walk you through these options and help you decide what type of service is right for you and your family.

Traditional Funeral Service with Cremation

A traditional funeral service with cremation typically consists of a visitation,  funeral service and a final committal service, all with a casket present. Cremation would then take place after the committal service. Each one of these components can be tailored to your needs and wishes.

The visitation is a time to commemorate a life lived, pay tribute to that life and to offer support and comfort to loved ones. Eulogies and prayer services also often take place at the visitation. The location, timing, tone and atmosphere of a visitation can be structured according to your family’s traditions and preferences.

The funeral service is typically held at a church or other place of worship and takes place the morning of the Committal Service.

The committal service is a short service by the funeral director before a cremation takes place. It will be followed by a final farewell to your loved one.   The committal service usually takes place in our Tribute Center or Committal Garden on the grounds of our Lake Ronkonkoma Facility.

Memorial Service

If you have chosen cremation prior to funeral services, our funeral directors can help you plan a memorial service with your loved ones urn present. Much like a traditional funeral service, a memorial service is a tribute to honor the life of your loved one. A memorial service can take place in the funeral home, a church, event center or somewhere of significance to your family. It can be formal and structured or informal and unstructured; you set the tone. While a memorial service allows for greater flexibility to make the tribute unique, it holds the same meaning and ceremony as traditional funeral services.

Typically, a visitation with the
urn present will take place for family and friends to gather, pay tribute and offer comfort. Eulogies, music and prayer services are often during this time. If you have chosen to do so, our funeral director will escort your loved ones urn to your chosen place of worship and to the cemetery thereafter, for burial or placement.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of life service is a planned tribute that offers your family and friends the chance to honor the journey and celebrate the life of your loved one. They can take place after a recent loss or to commemorate an anniversary or any other date of significance. They tend to be joyful, informal and celebratory events. Celebrations of Life provide greater flexibility to plan, prepare and create an event that is truly special and unique. The Tribute Center at Moloney's offers the perfect location to host your Celebration of Life.

A Final Resting Place for your Loved One After a Cremation is an Important Decision for your Family

Many families choose to keep their loved ones near in an urn. We will help you choose an urn from our wide selection of Urns and Keepsakes. After the cremation is complete, your loved one will be placed in the urn and our staff will set up an appointment for you to take your loved one home.

If you prefer to have your loved ones cremated remains buried or placed in a niche at a cemetery, our funeral directors will assist in making those arrangements.

Some families find comfort scattering their loved ones cremated remains at sea or a place that was meaningful to them. We have knowledge to help you navigate the local laws and regulations concerning scattering and resources to assist you in scattering at sea.
