Obituary

Vander Voort, Grace A. on February 9, 2012 in her 92nd year. Longtime resident of Setauket since 1961. Current President of Conservationists United for Long Island and past president of the Strongs Neck and Setauket Civic Associations. She had also been an active member of the Affiliated Brookhaven Civic Organization. Grace played a vital role in preserving Mt. Sinai Harbor, area ground and surface waters and the West Meadow Beach peninsula. She was also instrumental in preventing the over development of Rte. 347 as well as the construction of a liquid gas platform in Long Island Sound.
Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving mother of Robert Vander Voort III, Joan Hanley and Jane Nowlin. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Reposing at Moloneys Port Jefferson Station Funeral Home 523 Route 112 Port Jefferson Station, NY where a religious service will be held 8PM Sunday. Interment Monday 10 AM at Seaview Cemetery Mt. Sinai, NY. Visiting Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM
