Schaefer, Walter E. of Oneonta, NY, formerly of Huntington, NY, on July 11th, 2010 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Eleanor for 54 years. Devoted father of Eric, Cristy Schaefer-Pecoraro and Wendy Gill and son-in-laws Michael Pecoraro and John Gill. Loving brother of Henry. Adored grandfather of Johnny Ray, Lauren, Jake, Christopher and Kyle.

Walter was a proud US Marine who served in the USMC during the Korean War.
