Thomas P. Sheridan

Thomas P. Sheridan (Tom), 83,  of Holbrook, NY passed away on August 27th, 2017.   He was born in New York City on March 14, 1934 to Thomas P. and Margaret A. Sheridan.

Tom grew up on the West side of NYC, resided on Amsterdam Avenue and attended Rice High School.  Tom was a military veteran serving in the US Army from 1951-1954 during which he was awarded the Good Conduct and National Defense Medals.  After leaving the Army, he attended the University of Maryland, worked as a Manager for Grand Union Supermarkets and in 1969 he began working for the New York City Transit Authority until his retirement in 1991 as a Superintendent.  Tom had a great love of family, was an avid NY Giants, Yankees and Rangers fan.  He loved to travel, taking cruises and to visit friends and family.   He loved his children and grandchildren and watching them grow.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret and 3 children, Thomas (Mary) Sheridan of Shoreham, NY, Michael (Shannon) Sheridan of Cary, NC, James (Tara) Sheridan of East Islip, NY.  He has 7 grandchildren Sarah, Eileen, Kyleigh, Michael, Caitlin, Aidan, and Liam. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Margaret, sister Mary Catherine (Kay) and survived by siblings Joseph (Patricia) Sheridan, John (Ann) Sheridan and Vincent (Mary Jane) Sheridan.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 2-5pm. and 7-9pm at Moloney Funeral Home in Holbrook.  Mass Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ronkonkoma, NY at 10am on Thursday, August 31^st.  Internment at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.
