Dr. Chauhan taught me at Jamaica Hospital when I was a med student. A devoted teacher and mentor who always taught with a smile, he will be dearly missed. So sad. RIP.
I was a medical student at Jamaica Hospital in 2000. During my internal med rotation, I had the privilege of being taught by Dr. Chauhan. I cant find enough kind words to describe this man, always smiling, encouraging us, and teaching us all the pearls we needed to succeed. It's because of attendings like him that I became the doctor that I am today. I will always remember Dr. Chauhan for his willingness to share his knowledge with me. He will never be forgotten. RIP.
My deepest condolences to Dr. Chahaun’s family as he was a great physician and will always be remembered for his good work and all the patients and families he touched, including myself.

Our family will always appreciate what he did for us and we will always appreciate his staff. Thank you.

Dear Dr. Chauhan was my beloved respectful teacher and mentor while I completed residency at Jamacia Hospital from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Chauhan was THE BEST attending physician during that time and probably in the history of Jamacia Hospital residency program who always treated interns/residents as his colleagues with respect and dignity- he used to address his interns/residents as “ DOCTOR SAHIB “ a respectful way to address a senior doctor but he used to address his juniors same way. Dr. Chauhan used to tell his interns and residents during the weekend rounds after overnight admissions that you please go home and take rest as you are tired as you worked very hard during the overnight on call shift and I will round on these patients and take care of them - during that time Dr. Chauhan used to work as an intern, resident and attending by himself - AN AMAZING QUALITY. He was a very down to earth, humble, NICE and KNOWLEDGEABLE doctor and human being hard to find in this day and age. I learned a lot from him, how you can be a good doctor and human being also. We have lost a great teacher, exceptional doctor and your loss will be felt for ever. A good heart has stopped beating, a beautiful soul, full of love and faith, ascended to heaven, away from us but closer to God, leaving loneliness and sadness. We will miss you. May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. Please accept our sincere condolences.

My condolences and prayers for Mrs. Chauhan and her entire family. While I only met Dr. Chauhan once, I have heard much about him from my parents Dr. and Mrs. Sarkar about both his amazing medical acumen and capacity for humanity. It is an immense tragedy that he is one of the great medical minds we have lost in the line of duty during this pandemic. May he always be remembered by those whose lives he touched, and may he rest in peace.

Dr. Chauhan arrived at Jamaica Hospital during my time as an attending there. He was from day 1 thoughtful, respectful and despite his quiet demeanor a superb leader. He mad the hospital and the department of Internal Medicine a better place to work and to learn, not to mention his skills in patient care. RIP

Dr. Sudheer Chauhan (uncle as I call him). He was a father figure to me.
He was an amazing, gentle, kind hearted, beautiful person.
He was the Epitone of patience and an encyclopedia of knowledge, not only an incredible and dedicated physician but an incredible human being as well.
It was an honor to know you in this life. I learnt so much from you. Your patient and calm nature was an extraordinary quality that is so rare in todays day and age. You were a gem of a person. Too nice for this world.
It breaks my heart into a million pieces to realize that he is no longer with us in person, but he will always live in my heart.
No words can describe this great loss.
His Untimely death due to COVID-19 is it true tragedy.
I wish there was a way to reverse this tragedy.
My deepest condolences for his daughters and wife.
May his soul rest in peace.
I am a Social Work Supervisor at Jamaica Hospital. I had the privilege of working with Dr Chauhan for the past 13 + years. Not only did I get to experience his patience, his kindness, and brilliance as a teaching Attending. But several years ago I had an injury to my shoulder and was working for over a week in absolute agony. My Director called Dr Chauhan and asked if he would see me right away. In the midst of his very busy day seeing patients in his office, he took the time to examine me and provide treatment that would allow me some relief. I don’t know how he found enough hours in a day to treat, to teach, to listen, to care, and to also be a family man. But he did it with ease, without complaint, with a calm and soothing presence. He will be tremendously missed. He he irreplaceable. He broke the mold. My deepest condolences to the Chauhan family, especially his wife and daughters. Rest In Peace. And thank you.
It was an honor to work with you . I will truly miss you and keep the memories in my heart . My deepest condolences to The Chauhan Family . To the most sweetest ,genuine , caring person in this world , may you Rest In Peace .
You were like a father to all of us. Your teachings and guidance will be with us and will be passed on, so you will live forever!
Dr chauhan (uncle as i call him) was the most humble, gentle, kindhearted, amazing, human being i have ever come across in my life. He was a father figure to me. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and epitome of patience. He maintained a calm nature, in any situation, such a rare quality in today's day and age.
I learnt so much from him. It was an honor to know him in this life time. I will miss him dearly forever.
His untimely demise die to COVID 19, and the realization that he is no longer with us, breaks my heart into a million pieces, wish somehow this tragedy could be reversed..
This is a great loss to the world. My deepest condolences to his daughters and wife.
May his soul rest in peace!!
I'm a close friend of Dr. Chauhan's daughter, Vandana. For years I've heard so much about Dr. Chauhan - how much he cared about his family, gave himself to others, was always there for his wife and daughters, and made sure to give everyone in his life special attention. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times, including the honor of attending Vandana's graduation ceremony with him in 2015, and sharing his pride and joy in that moment. He was an extraordinary man gone far too soon, but with a life well lived. He will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
I had the honor and pleasure of knowing Dr. Chauhan during my residency 2003-2006. He was an amazing physician, a very learned person, and yet very modest. He was what one would call an 'ideal doctor'. I would often see him work till quite late at the hospital. His patients adored him as did we, the residents. He never lost his cool even in the most difficult of circumstances. May his soul rest in peace.
My heart hurts for this loss of such a gentle loved person. He treated each person as if you were important to him. I'm going to miss him in sight and spirit. May his soul be recieved by whom ever he believed in. Amen
My hearfelt sincere condolences to Mrs.Chauhan and family! We were coresidents at Jamaica Hospital and we completed our residencies in 1997. He was our friend, philosopher, and guide. He was very humble exceptional humanbeing and great physician. His medical knowledge was extraordinary and he was "the walking Harrison". We all will miss him. Let all of us try to keep his legacy alive. May his soul rest in peace!
His younger brother Chandan is a fast friend of mine and the whole family was known to us and I know Chauhans as a family of very gentle and wonderful talented people. Even his parents were known for their gentle character and integrity and very fine human values.
Dr. Sudhir was known for his brilliance and decency. We shall all miss him very much. He should've had many more years amongst us but then they say those who are noble, God calls them early. We miss him but perhaps, god needed him more.
May his soul rest in peace and may God hold the hands of the family and see them through this crisis of separation.
my sincere condolences ti the entire family. Dr Chauhan touched all of our lives in a positive way
My heart felt condolences. Will be a great loss ....no words ...rest in peace

I have never met Dr. Chauhan but Sneh talked about him throughout the residency. She was proud of him and noted him as her role model. His battle does not come lightly among the residents. Sneh's worry was our worry, and her loss is our loss. His daughter, Dr. Sneh Chauhan, is more than capable of carrying the torch to heal, to support, and to comfort those who are ill and unwell.

Dr. Chauhan,
I have never met you but my name is Jai. I am a medical resident and friend with Sneh. She talked about you several times throughout the residency and how you are her role model. Your battle does not come lightly among the residents and other healthcare professionals. Sneh's worry was my worry, and her loss is my loss. You would have been so proud to see her being strong and carried herself with dignity during your battle. Your daughter, Dr. Sneh Chauhan, is more than capable of carrying the torch to heal, to support, and to comfort those who are ill and unwell. Dr. Sudheer Chauhan, please rest in peace.
Dr. Chauhan blessed my life and I can not put into words how grateful I am to him. I hope I can repay his generosity in the future and work towards being a physician he would be proud of. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. I shall never forget.
Our deepest condolences to Dr Mrs Chauhan and all daughters, myself and Dr Chauhan started our journey together at JHMC in 1994, from the beginning I figured out that JHMC will be very fortunate to have physician like Dr Chauhan. He was one of the modest and down to earth person, always looking for chance to help others and what a knowledge? If no one knows answer he knows. Even though he was senior and experienced person, he never showed that, he was as good as any new residents from medical school he shows. Am sure whole Chauhan family, his pts ,JHMC medical staff and other close allies and old friends like me will miss him. I think he was too good a human being,GOD needed him sooner? GOD bless such a beautiful soul of absolute human being.
Thank you Dr. Chauhan for always being so inspiring. I’ve known you my whole life basically, thank you for being the best doctor for my whole family. Thank you for your knowlegde and words of encouragement when I was in nursing school. God bless you always. To Dr. Chauhan family: may God carry you in his loving arms.

We are very shocked to know of the unexpected and untimely demise of Dr Chauhan. He was the most humble and dedicated physician who constantly inspired me during my residency in Jamaica Hospital from 2005-2008 and since then I have been practicing in Virginia. We all residents have gained immense knowledge from him and he would always say ‘sab theek hojayega’ . Both myself and my children will never forget his humbleness and modesty and his medical expertise. People who have been trained by him will carry on his legacy of selfless service and I have strived to continue legacy of great teachers like you since 2008. Our prayers for the departed soul and deepest sympathies for the family- Dr Mrs Chauhan and and Dr Roli , Dr Vandana and Dr Sneh, and all loved ones , ... and also Jamaica Hospital program family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
We all, the family, friends and students are devastated and destroyed by sudden demise of Dr. Chauhan. I joined Jamaica residency program in 2008 after completing my 3 years of surgical residency and 2 years of practice in general surgery in India. Therefore, Internal medicine was new to me and I was weak in it. Dr Chauhan was my mentor in first year in residency. I didn't do well in first annual internal assessment, therefore he told me personally that you better pay attention to the medicine otherwise it will be difficult to you. At that time, I was thinking to get surgical residency. But that timely and fatherly advice stuck to my heart. From that day onwards, I paid all my attention to the IM residency program and quit the dream of surgical residency. Thereafter, I kept improving my knowledge and skill in clinical medicine and exam. After few months, he told me, " Prakash, I am proud of you, you are doing very good". I finished my residency and joined Hepatology fellowship in New Jersey, and that was our last meeting. He said "why don't want you to stay in Internal Medicine, what is bad of it". I kept his advice. I regret that I should have met him afterwards in last 6 years but I took granted that he will be here forever. But it seems that the God has other plan for him to serve his nobility in ethereal world and he untimely took him away from us. I will always cherish his teaching, love and work ethics.
May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to the family during this difficult time.
Love you, Sir, Forever

My deepest condolences to your family, may you rest in peace. You were a kind, compassionate doctor who cared for many of my family members and you will be missed by all.

Words ring hollow trying to describe the enormity of the loss we have suffered with the passing of Dr Chauhan. He was truly extraordinary, not only as a physician, but also as a teacher and as a mentor. Mine is among the countless lives he changed for the better. He was a beautiful human being and I miss him dearly.
Dr. Chauhan was a great teacher, amazing personality to work with during my residency from MD internal medicine from 2008-2011. His tremendous support to me personally during that time was unforgivable. Our family including my wife Tejal, kids Dhruv and Kush did everyday morning and evening prayers for his better health since we heard news about him for his admission in ICU at Jamaica Medical center. We will continue to do prayers for him and his family to our Lord Swaminarayan and Swami to give strength and courage to family to pass through this difficult time. Our condolence to his family. Rest In Peace Mama ji , you had a kind heart and always open to help everybody, you were always there to help and speak to anyone who came to you for Advice !
We will miss you forever !
Although I had the privilege of only meeting Dr. Chauhan twice, he was an extremely kind, polite and warm-hearted person. He was the kind of person who touched the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by many, many people. May he rest in peace.
When news of Dr.Chauhan"s passing became known in Jamaica Hospital , anywhere you turned, there were people crying - in the hallways, ER, nursing stations , the wards. It felt that the whole hospital is crying and it was.
I said it for years that Dr.Chauhan was the best physician that I have ever met and I am saying it today. To be a great doctor it takes so much more than just medical knowledge and clinical skills - it needs a real character, compassion, dedication, being humble and true love to what you do .
Dr.Chauhan had it all !
He is one of a kind and just by being who he was he tought , inspired and influenced so many of us. Very few people leave such a mark in this world with their lives.
Dr. Chauhan ! You will be be missed very much but your legacy will live forever and with time will only become greater.

Dr. Chauhan was is the first Attending I ever worked with as a resident. He set the bar extremely high for expectations of other attendings and drove and pushed myself to be the best that I could be. He was a selfless man and wanted the best for everyone.
When I Applied for fellowship, I had an interview at a program where the program director was his resident about 15 years ago. I told Dr. Chauhan About this and he told me he would take care of it. The day of the interview, the program director walked out and said to me. “Hello, I just spoke to Dr Chauhan on the phone this morning. He said good things about you for about 10 to 15 minutes.” He did not have to do that for me, and I am very grateful for this.
To know that Dr Chauhan did not allow his residents to come see Covid patients while he went in the room is not something that surprised me. This is a noble thing to do and certainly a characteristic of Dr. Chauhan.
You will forever be missed sir, you have made a huge impact on the medical community. RIP, my condolences to his family and everyone that knew him. He is in God’s hands now.
Dr. Sudheer Chauhan a true friend a brother a decent, humble human being.

He smile, look at me and warm my heart with this words “Dr Casmartino it will come with time, you will learn with time and practice”

Dr. Chauhan is a legend
He was the most compassionate, kindest, wonderful physician/ mentor I have ever had. He was like a father to us. He was the one who believed in you and treated everyone the same
I remember one time in the round he asked us , " how big do you like your family to be ?." I replied small family because I can't tolerate the loss of my loved ones.
He said " we are all here temporary , every one will go one day , only God knows when, a big family is better because you always have lots of memories to share and have more loved ones to care for you" I never forget his kind smile
I have lost one of my dearest family member and is heartbreaking....his memory lives on....

A caring and gentle person, and a doctor who healed and shaped hundreds of lives all over the world, someone who was admired by all, Uncle was indeed one of the rarest precious gem. Though I have never met him in person, his departure from this world has profoundly affected me. Sadly, we all have to experience someday the unimaginable pain of losing those dearest to us, who have been our lifelines. Dear Sneh, I sincerely pray that Almighty gives you, Aunty, Roly didi and Vandana Di the strength to bear the loss. Uncle must've always been proud to have a loving family.

When Samir was very much eager to buy the Harimandhir , but didnot collect the enough money to buy it, he saw Samir’s tears and ask how much you need. Samir asked 10 thousands dollars, nextday he handover to Samir a cheque of 10 thousand dollars to buy Hari Mandhir. Samir was burst with tears .
Devotes of Hari Mandhir USA, New York will remember you, you will be in their heart. You and your name will be their.
May the family find strength to cope with this irreplaceable loss and carry forward his legacy.
One of my most beloved teachers. It’s hard to believe he won’t be at my graduation. The time I had with him was brief but his impact was enormous
His death is my personal and whole community loss. Wherever he is we will remember him forever.
I pray with all my heart that Almighty will place him in bestest Heaven. We will miss his smile, his teaching, his subtle jokes, nevertheless his presence. He has left us but his memories are engraved in our heart. RIP sir. May Allah gives the family the strength to overcome this difficult time.
Dr. Chauhan was the kindest and most caring person I have ever seen. He was one of the busiest doctor in Jamaica Hospital, his list will be full of patients to be seen in the hospital and would have many more patients scheduled in office for the afternoon. I have seen so many people came to him for medical or personal help- despite having busy day- I have seen him remembering about everyone of them and responding to their request without delay, the same way he would take care of his own family. He never lost his temper over anything. He was helping hand to all his colleagues. I have enjoyed life lessons given by him while eating peanuts in our doctors lounge. Words are not enough to describe his personality. Man and doctor like him is one in million.
My sincere condolences to Dr. Chauhan's family...he will be so missed...
My deepest condolences to Dr Chauhan’s family. Even though I never met him, I have no doubt he was always willing to give, because I know Vandana and that’s how she is. I hope all who knew him will continue to remember all he contributed and cherish his legacy to the world of medicine.
Rest in peace dear Uncle. You will always stay alive in our hearts. We will always remember the life lessons learnt from you. We will love you and miss you forever.
Dear Dr. Chauhan was my beloved respectful teacher and mentor while I completed residency at Jamacia Hospital from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Chauhan was THE BEST attending physician during that time and probably in the history of Jamacia Hospital residency program who always treated interns/residents as his colleague with respect and dignity- he use to address his interns/residents as “ DOCTOR SAHIB “ a respectful way to address a doctor. Dr. Chauhan use to tell his interns and residents during the weekend rounds after overnight admission that you please go home and take rest as you are tired as you worked very hard during the overnight on call shift and I will round on these patients and take care of them - during that time Dr. Chauhan use to work as an intern, resident and attending by himself - AN AMAZING QUALITY. He was a very down to earth, humble, NICE and KNOWLEDGEABLE doctor and human being hard to find in this day and in spite. I learned a lot to learn from him how you can be a good doctor and human being also. We will miss him. Our condolences and prayers for the family. God Bless You.

Dr Chauhan was my attending physician at Jamaica hospital medical center during my residency 1997 to 2000. His medial knowledge in theoretical and practical aspect helped me to gain vast medical knowledge. He was always available to any guidance even after I left Jamaica hospital and started my infectious disease fellowship. I have yet to find non controversial person like him in my life yet. He was not the best teacher but he was the best human being difficult to find nowadays. Prayers for his family.

Dedication to a life of service. That is what I will remember about my uncle. He proved his dedication every day of his life. When my cousin was getting married, all the family members traveled to India to celebrate the joyous occasion. During the entire trip, cousins and relatives spent the time catching up and making memories. One relative in particular was in his early eighties and suffered from Alzheimer's disease. He kept to himself and his wife, often in a state of confusion. While my uncle could have taken this small vacation as a respite from his doctoral duties, he chose to stay by the elderly man's side and provide him care and comfort. For my uncle, his job was not a laborious task but a privilege he took seriously. Such a commitment to helping others is rare, and my uncle exemplified that commitment to the fullest. Truly an inspirational man.
Love you, uncle. Your legacy will love on forever and your hard work will always be greatly appreciated. Gone, but never forgotten. May my Tau rest in peace.
I love you my beloved brother! I am so fortunate that you chose to be my brother. You will forever be in my heart!
May god bless his soul!
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
