Sr. Margaret Mary Mc Cabe, D.W. in religion known as Sr. Patrick Margaret of Our Lady of Sound Beach, New York on March 23, 2023 in her 87th year. Beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret. Loving sister to John (Diana), the late Patrick (Mary Ann) and the late James (Linda). She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and the Daughters of Wisdom. Sr. Margaret M. McCabe dedicated her life to caring for others as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Hampton Roads Virginia. Memorial services Moloney’s Port Jefferson Station Funeral Home, 523 Route 112, Port Jefferson Station, NY where a religious service will be held 3PM. Memorial Funeral Mass Wednesday 10AM at St. Louis De Montfort RC Church, Sound Beach, NY Interment following Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY. With her wisdom and prophetic eye she would go beyond herself, her Church to embrace inclusiveness while working with the Sowers of Justice which is expanding in these times!

While Margaret was always a star student, I will always remember her for her loving compassion in her treatment of others. she worked until just recently with a phenomenal mission to bring justice to women globally. she will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the family of Sister Margaret and to the sisters in the Daughters of Wisdom community. In her "retirement" years she offered loving, faithful service many times at the Norfolk Catholic Worker community, sharing breakfast on the streets, cooking meals for the Hospitality House and caring for sick people. She would wash mountains of muddy fresh greens with good humor. Standing with a peace sign at protests, the same. And her sharing on scripture and theology was always a breath of fresh air. She was a good Disciple and friend of Jesus.
