Salvatore F. Rizzo of Centereach New York was born on December 18, 1935 in Brooklyn New York. Beloved husband of Joan Rizzo (nee Hodum). Loving father to Jeanne Durkot (Al), Jennifer Rizzo, Mary Hunt (Chris), Joseph Rizzo (Bethanie) and Stephanie Friedman (Melissa Jerva). Cherished Grandfather to Kaitlyn (Jason), Kelsey (Rich), Sam, Stephanie (Dylan), Allissa (Sam), Thomas, Mathew, Samantha, Joseph, Chloe and Salvatore. Great Grandfather to Ryley, Jacob, Lukas, Emmie, Kenna, Cole, Dylan, Alex, Aubrey, Murphy, Elijiah, Anthony and Jaxson. Brother to Edward Rizzo and Marietta Kruck.

Salvatore served in the US Army – special forces – in Germany during the Korean War. He was a very proud Korean War Veteran.

Salvatore was a social studies teacher at Selden Middle School in the Middle Country School District, which he also ran the History Bowls for some time, which he looked forward to and loved!

Salvatore passed away on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2023. He is forever loved and will be missed.
