Larsen Marjorie, on January 26, 2011. We mourn the passing and celebrate the life of this woman of all seasons. Beloved mother of Lisa Larsen-Hill and Gerard Larsen , mother-in-law of Roger Hill, grandmother of Leah Larsen. Marjorie brought an unquestionable zest to life and to all she met. Her passion for helping others started by emulating her mothers life, studying to be a nurse at Bellevue. She was Executive Director of the Sr. Citizen Department of Smithtown and was instrumental in bringing Smithtown Senior Citizen Center to fruition. Her career with senior began with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) She leaves behind a legacy of programs for seniors. Her pride and joy was the Golden Showcase where seniors could bring their arts and crafts to market. She was an officer of the NY State National Conference on Aging. She was an influential member of the US Delegation for the advancement of senior citizens with the People to People Exchange traveling to China and Africa. In recognition of her outstanding achievements she was honored by Suffolk County with a Marjorie Larsen Day. The programs she instituted have an will endure, touching lives of countless people. She relished her cooking shows, playing bridge with her many friends, art, and traveling the world. She was known for her strength, kindness, integrity wisdom and humor.
