Conlon, Lawrence W. “Skip” of Lake Ronkonkoma on July 10, 2019 in his 84th year. Loving husband of Betty (nee Bartik); Devoted father to Timothy L. and Laura E. Delorey. Adoring Grandfather to Joey, Meaghan and Jacqueline. Caring father in law to Joseph and Krista. Brother of Sue Conlon and Winnie Brzozowski and Uncle too many nieces and nephews.

Skip was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 24, 1934. He was a US Navy Korean War Veteran serving on the USS Cabot. Skip worked at Grumman Aerospace for 37 years in both Bethpage and Calverton. He was a 20 year Volunteer for Boy Scouts of America. He was the Scoutmaster of Troop 91, Suffolk County Council District Commissioner, Scoutmaster England 1986 Council Troop 404. He earned the Wood Badge & Silver Beaver Award. He was a Kiwanis International Life member, past President and Lieutenant Governor Suffolk East Division. Skip was a Life Member of the VFW Post 9486 in Lake Ronkonkoma; a Member of American Legion Post 8, Winter Haven, FL and a Member & Past President of the Board of Directors of the Hidden Golf Homeowners Association, Winter Haven, FL. Skip was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Skip was a true gentlemen, with an outpouring of kindness and love for everyone. He was married to the love of his life, Betty for 61 years. Together and with friends they traveled the world and cherished the moments. He always had a special twinkle in his eye and a warm smile and comment for everyone. He was a problem solver taking on difficult projects around the house and at work, and got them done successfully and under budget. A great host and life of the party he always made sure to include everyone and his laugh was infectious and contagious. He was the master at fundraising; he would work all angles to make it successful. He enjoyed playing golf, baseball and horseshoes and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved both his New York and Florida Families.

Visitation is at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home, Lake Ronkonkoma on Monday July 15th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9pm. A funeral Mass will be on Tuesday July 16th at 10 am, St. Joseph’s Church, Lake Ronkonkoma. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Good Shepherd Hospice at 110 Bi-county Boulevard, Suite 114, Farmingdale, NY 11735, 631-465-6350.
