My earliest documented memory of Joseph was when Elaine and I became new moms, as the attached photo shows. I had my son on my lap, and she had baby Joseph on hers. We were both delighted with our babies. Even then one could see in Joseph's eyes his curiosity and intelligence, and his sweetness. Many years later I remember going to Elaine's house. Joseph was about 14 or 15. While she and I were inside having coffee and chatting, Joseph and my son were playing chess. Both of these kids were smart and competitive. One of them lost and before you knew it, they were both in a mutual head-lock, thrashing about in the backyard. Off course, we had to break them up, but soon all was forgotten and they were playing again. Later on, I smiled at a photo of him at graduation---so very handsome! Over the years I saw him grow up and become a wonderful human being. I will always remember his smiling eyes, always seemingly staring out in wonderment. At home he delighted in playing video games with his dad,and enjoying with his family the good food on the table. He was an amazing intellect with a smart sense of humor. Elaine, Franky, Joseph and Michael have been like family to me, and I hold them dearly in my heart. May all who love them be blessed with Joseph's eternal shining light.
