Bill W. Raggie

Mr. John William “Bill” Raggie died suddenly on January 10th 2018 at Westerly Hospital in Westerly, RI at the age of 69.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Jan of Lewes, DE. He leaves behind his son John M. Raggie of Asuza, CA and daughter, Alli Lathrop (Dan) of Westerly, RI, along with their two young sons Matt and Sam. He predeceases his father, John R. Raggie. He leaves behind his brother Doug Raggie (Judy), of Northport, NY, his sister Rev. Claudia Raggie of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, and Mary Beth Heinicke.

Bill was born on May 10, 1948 in Liberty, NY to John and Evelyn Raggie. He graduated from CW Post in 1974 with a Masters in Public Administration. He married Jan, a legal secretary in Getty Oil Co. in 1976. Bill had an impressive career in the insurance industry, working with AIG, Travelers and Berkeley Specialty. He was a devoted husband, brother and proud father and grandfather.

A funeral is scheduled for January 17 at 7:30 pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lake Ronkonkoma, with a viewing from 2-4 pm at Moloney Funeral Home, Lake Ronkonkoma. His sister, Pastor Raggie, will officiate the worship service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bills’s life. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Bill’s name to the Vietnam Veterans of America.
