JOHN JOSEPH KELLY
Dec. 6, 1960 – Jan. 17, 2023

Beloved husband of Kathleen for 38-1/2 yrs., loving father of John Ryan who was his pride and joy. Cherished son-in-law of John R. Kelleher (Poppy). He also leaves his brother Richard C. Kelly and sister Susan Kartell, sister-in-law Ann Marie Kelleher (Stanley), brothers-in-law John R. Kelleher and James C. Kelleher (Michelle). He is survived by 6 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 grandnephews and 2 grandnieces. He is predeceased by his parents John P. Kelly and Grace Burns Kelly.
Born in Jackson Heights, Queens, he attended St. Joan of Arc parochial school and then Loyola Prep in NYC. He spent 20 yrs. in the banking industry before taking employment with the Town of Brookhaven as the Housing Rehabilitation Administrator and serving as the CSEA White Collar President.
John was an avid reader who enjoyed history and geography and loved traveling and exploring new places, and in his youth played baseball, football and basketball, as well as skiing. In his later years, he developed a love for the game of golf and wine tasting and he loved classic rock music.
John loved helping people and made a positive impact on the lives of so many. He will be sorely missed.
