Frances Maggio

Frances Bellia Maggio, (Nana) devoted wife of the late Frank Maggio (Poppie) for 56 years, beloved mother of the late Maria Rolston, Diane Neary (Richard), Michael Maggio (Renee), and Carole Dorry. Loving Nana to 11 grandchildren- Cheryl (Billy), Tracie (Jeff), Michael, Jennifer (Curtis), Lauren (Andrew), Mindy (Jason), Richard (Heather), Frank, Kevin (Jenn), Michael, and Brian (Kayelee). Proud great grandmother of 13 – Nicole, Caitlin, Emma, Elizabeth, Andrew, Nathan, Alexandra, Tyler, Jamin, Kamie, Rylan, Hudson, and Ellia. Passed away peacefully on Saturday July 30, 2016 at the age of 87
Nana was born in Brooklyn, New York on St. Valentine’s Day – February 14, 1929. This is also the town where she met her husband, the love of her life! When Nan and Poppie first married they lived in Brooklyn and then moved their growing family to Cambria Heights, NY, eventually settling in Dix Hills, NY until the late ‘70s when they moved to Florida. Nan’s true passion and love was her family and was happiest when she was surrounded by friends and family. She LOVED to cook for her family and she was famous for her meatballs, baked rice, homemade pizza and Easter pizza. She loved to travel with her husband so much that when Poppie retired in the last 70’s Nan became a travel agent so they could travel the world, and they did for many years. She always enjoyed entertaining, and loved to share the stories of all the fun she had with her sisters and brothers and their families. Frances instilled family values into each of her children and grandchildren and we know that her memory and love will always live on.
