Dominique Harrington of Setauket, NY passed away at Good Shephard Hospice in Port Jefferson on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 after a long illness.
She was born in Orleans, France. Educated in France and Germany for her formative years, she holds degrees from Syracuse and Columbia Universities. In her profession as a bilingual Speech Language Pathologist she worked in Montreal, Canada and Florida before settling on Long Island. Employed for more than 30 years at the South Huntington School District she enjoyed sailing on Long Island and visiting relatives in Normandy, France each summer.
Loving wife to Bob for more than 30 years, Devoted mother to Kilian and loving friend to stepchildren Allison, Cory, Alison and Peter. Cherished sister of Patrick and sister-in-law Nancy and loving aunt to niece Catie.
Her “Joie de vivre” was legendary to her family and friends,
Donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, Port Jefferson in her memory would be appreciated by the family.

Une petite participation en Français (et même en Gaélique), si cela est permis! Repose en paix, Dominique! Ar dheis Dé go raibh do hAnam! Pourquoi? Parce que tu étais à moitié française, par ta Maman, Rolande, et que ton Papa, Lester (Wilkinson), me disait - autrefois - qu'il était fier de ses origines irlandaises. Et moi, là-dedans? Michael/Mike Cannon - Irlandais d'origine, divorcé de la cousine germaine de Dominique (et de Patrick), Lyliane Andrieux. J'ai surtout connu la famille Wilkinson - dont Dominique, bien sûr - lors de leur séjour à Homburg/Ramstein (RFA/Allemagne), après la décision du Général de Gaulle de quitter l'OTAN (NATO). J'en garde d'excellents souvenirs, brefs pourtant. To conclude (in English!): My very sincere condolences to all the members of the Harrington/Wilkinson families on your sad loss. May Dominique now rest in Peace!

Bob I am so very saddened to see that Dominique passed away. She was a wonderful woman and a dedicated teacher and friend. I have such fond memories of her and her laughter. She was a fighter. My dear, dear Dominique.I am so sorry for all that you went through. I do not think you knew how much you ment to me over the years. I stared at South Huntington as your substitute when you went on a trip to Paris with students from the High School. When I was hired it was you who taught me the ropes and supported me throughout my career. We had fun together, we shared stories together and we learned together. I loved being the brides made at your wedding. It was a great honor for me. I loved your sense of humor so funny and so much joy. I will always be grateful for our friendship .
