Chris and I are so sorry about the loss of Russ. We spent so much time in the theatre watching as Russ and Loret dedicated themselves heart and soul to CM. We send our love to Loret and family and wish them peace and healing.

Loret and Family, God has blessed you all with a wonderful husband, father, & grandfather. We will always remember Russ as our tree sprayer. We first met him almost 40 years ago when we first moved into our home. We would always receive a call the day before spraying and before he sprayed he would double check with me to make sure the kids toys were not outside and to close our windows especially since are children were very small. We missed having him spray our trees but I still saw him once in a while since I knew Loret from church. Rest in peace dear Russ. With our deepest sympathies, Jeannine & Rick Musselwhite

When I heard from Erik that Mr. Bengtson passed away, I felt like I lost another father. I have known Mr. B almost as long as I knew my Dad. Thank you Mr. B for sharing your family with mine. Your generosity will always be remembered, and yes he was a role model! I cannot mention Mr. B without thinking about Mrs. B. Thank you Loret for letting my brother and I spend time with your family. Times may change but loving memories do not. BTW, the best cooking I ever experienced was yours! I mean that to this very day. When I got married I judged my wife's cooking to yours. Not even close but she tried and my wife got honorable mention. I wish the family all the best. Mr. B will be missed but always remembered.

Russ was a wonderful Uncle. He taught me things and we always had a good time doing it. I felt truly seen and he made me feel special. I'm so happy he was in my life.

Another funny memory that I hold dear is the night we all were at Loret’s for a CM ladies night, (probably to share her multitude of luscious desserts). Russ offered to make us Pina Coladas.. OMG they were amazing! I asked Russ what his secret was.. he made them with all the usual ingredients, however he added Ice Cream to the blender. I tried many times to imitate Russ’ Pina Colada's but they never came out the same. He had that special touch!

Russ was always the gentleman in the group. I have many sweet memories of Russ but one of my favorites is when we 6 ladies from CM would take a road trip. We all drove to Camille’s house ( centrally located), except for Loret. Her Russ drove her, unloaded her luggage and mountains of her cookies and whoppie pies, pack all of our luggage neatly in The van (Tony’s van!), wish us all a wonderful trip and kiss his beloved Loret goodbye. Mind you.. there were no other husbands helping us load the van. After our trip we would pull up to Camille’s house and there was Russ, waiting. First he would kiss his Loret a welcome home kiss, and then he would help unload the van which was now empty of Loret’s cookies, etc. but full of luggage and purchases. Russ.. always the sweet gentleman. A very special man!

We've lost a hero. Not just a husband, father, friend, firefighter. Russ is a wonderful soul. Someone who would put himself out to for just about anyone. Whether it was helping set up a First Communion party for a young girl to make it so special or making a beautiful birth announcement for his wife's godson, Russ put his all in everything. I will miss having you as a role model for my son on what a true gentleman is. Loret, Erin, Cort & Eric, my heart is breaking for your loss. Love & prayers Christine Vallone
