Catherine Cicero

Catherine Cicero (Cathy), 79 of North Babylon, passed away on October 26, 2022. She was born on June 16, 1943 in Clifton, New Jersey to Peter and Victoria Fonti and moved to Brooklyn and then to Deer Park. After she married her husband Joe, they moved to North Babylon. They were married for 59 years and raised 2 children.
After graduating high school, she went to work at Republic Airport, where she met Joe. After they were married, Catherine and Joe owned their own businesses, a hardware store, laundromats and then a shopping center.
Catherine’s family was the most important thing to her. She loved spending time with them. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s everyday lives and activities. She was their #1 fan and supporter. They meant the world to her.
Other than with her family, her time was spent making maple syrup with her husband and best friend Joe on their property, Circle C Maple Farm in upstate New York. Her favorite place to be was in the woods and in their log house upstate. She loved spending time there, especially when her family came to visit. She enjoyed taking care of everyone in her family and wouldn’t sit until everyone had what they needed.
Halloween was one of her favorite holidays. She loved dressing up and going trick or treating with her grandchildren. She would surprise them with her costumes every year.
Catherine was always happy and smiling. She was always willing to help people and put everyone before herself.
She is survived by her husband, Joe, her two children Donna Marie (Mike), Joseph, sister Phyllis (John) and her four grandchildren, Michael, Catherine, Sabrina and Julianna. Catherine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and a friend to all.
