Brendan M. Quinn

Brendan Matthew Quinn, 33, of Mastic, New York, passed away on March 17, 2021, in Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Brendan was born in Bay Shore, New York, on September 25th, 1987, to parents Matthew Quinn and Kristina (Gugel) Quinn. Brendan grew up on Long Island, New York, and as the firstborn child, was a great protector to his younger siblings; Katie, Joseph, and Connor. Brendan graduated from Eastport South Manor Junior-Senior High School in Manorville, New York, before following his father’s footsteps and joining the military. Brendan served in the United States Air National Guard for six years as a Communication Client System specialist for the 106th Rescue Wing. Military work provided Brendan with a strong foundation for his working-adult life. In 2008, Brendan started working at an Applebee’s restaurant in addition to his work at the Air National Guard. That June, a casual gathering with his co-worker, Samantha, turned out to be one of the best nights of Brendan’s life as he had the realization that she was his life partner. The pair had their first daughter, Lily, in 2009 and decided to officiate their love with a small wedding reception in 2015, surrounded by close friends and family. Right before his wedding, Brendan started working as a Conductor for Metro-North Railroad where he was adored by his co-workers for his kindness and wit. Brendan had a passion for fishing as the calmness of the water was a nice break from his fast-paced life. Above all else, Brendan loved being a father and in 2018, he and Samantha completed their family with their second daughter, Emelia. Brendan’s proudest achievements are his two beautiful girls. His daughter Lily will always remember the important life lessons her dad taught her, including how to better herself through respect, responsibility, and kindness. Brendan is survived by his wife, Samantha Quinn; children, Lily Quinn and Emilia Quinn; mother, Kristina (Gugel) Quinn; Siblings, Katherine Quinn, Joseph Quinn, Connor Quinn, and Madeline Quinn; grandmother, Marilyn Quinn; inlaws, Anne Kappers and James Kappers; nephew, Mason Gonzalez; niece, Caroline Quinn; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brendan is predeceased by his father, Matthew Quinn as well as his grandparents; Joseph Quinn, Lorenz Gugel, and Sue Gugel. To honor Brendan’s life, a wake will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2021, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Moloney-Sinnicksons Funeral Home in Canter Moriches, New York. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Mastic Beach with a burial ceremony directly after at Mount Pleasant Cemetary in Center Moriches, New York.
