Barbara Scott, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 13, 2023, in Oakdale, NY, at the age of 85. Barbara was born on June 30, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Hugh Quinlan and Veronica Quinlan (Nee Mace).
Barbara was married to her beloved husband, Robert Scott, for over 50 years until his passing. Together, they raised four sons, Robert (Lori), Daniel (Ida), Patrick (Collette), and Michael (Linda), who gave her eight grandchildren, Kevin, Emily (Tim), Shawn, Jason, Nicholas, Connor, Christopher, and Joseph.
Barbara was predeceased by her three brothers, Davey, Bill, and Hugh Quinlan, and her sister, Ronnie Macleod. Despite the loss of her siblings, Barbara remained a source of love and strength for her family.
Barbara’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and indulging in her hobbies. She loved nothing more than curling up with a good book and a cup of tea, whipping up delicious cakes and cookies in the kitchen, or crocheting beautiful blankets for her loved ones. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. Barbara also loved spending time, and sharing snacks, with her long time fury companion, Curly.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 3-8 pm at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home in Ronkonkoma, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 10 am at St. Joseph’s RC in Ronkonkoma, NY, followed by burial at Washington Memorial Park.
Barbara’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will live on through her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
