Barbara Ann Kissane

Barbara Ann Kissane, 82 years old, of Port Jefferson Station, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on February 3rd 2023. Barbara was born on 10/30/1940 in Brooklyn, NY. Daughter of the late Ralph Mattone and the late Jennie Saraniero. She was one of four children (the baby of the family) and preceded in death by her brother the late Francis Mattone (the late Dolores), her sister the late Josephine Sotis (the late Orlando) and her brother the late Michael Mattone (the late Isabell, the late Millie).

Barbara was blessed with a large and loving family. The proud wife of the late Richard Michael Kissane. Barbara is survived by her four children, Robert John Kissane (Susan), Jennie Ann Kissane Battaglia (Thomas), Linda Ann Lipani (Thomas), and Pamela Ann Kissane DiFrancesco (Joseph). Her beloved grandchildren, Keri Kissane-Hagadorn (Michael), Richard Robert Kissane, Joseph Battaglia, Gabrille Rose Dolce (Kenneth), Thomas James Lipani, Natalie Mattone DiFrancesco and Olivia Kissane DiFrancesco. Great grandmother (Gigi) to Hudson Robert Hagadorn and Remi Sue Hagadorn.

In her early life, she attended Good Shepherd school and graduated from Stella Morris Catholic highschool. She met Richard as a teenager and they married on February, 20th 1960. Their first two children were born in Brooklyn NY and then they moved to Long Island to raise their growing family in 1964. Barbara was many things to many people. A devoted aunt, friend, cousin, and neighbor. She leaves behind over thirty nieces and nephews. Later in life, she went to work as an administrator assistant at Atria Assisted Living. She retired after 34 years. Her compassion, heart and listening ear was a source of comfort to many. Barbara had the ability to make everyone feel heard and special. She was a devoted Catholic who in her free time enjoyed knitting, playing cards, holiday decorations, shopping at Homegoods, watching TCM and basketball games.
