Alessandro Treglia

d. December 4, 2023

Alessandro Treglia, age 98, of Ronkonkoma, New York, died peacefully on
December 4th 2023. He was born in the little town of Trivio di Formia, Italy,
February 1925.
Alessandro was also known to his paesanos as “Mastro Lisandro” a moniker
he aquired for his artisan specialization as a shoemaker. He left Trivio and
immigrated to the United States, onboard the then renowned ocean liner
“Raffaello”, arriving in New York City with his wife Marianna and his young
family, in early 1966. In the late 1980’s, Alessandro and his family realized
their dream of a lifetime by opening up and successfully operating the
family-owned business, Trivio Pizzeria and Restaurant in Forest Hills, NY.
After their move to Ronkonkoma, NY, He became a regular parishioner of
the Saint Joseph Church in Ronkonkoma. Alessandro and his wife Marianna,
always looked forward to hosting family weekend get together and annual
Easter and Christmas-Eve dinner parties with his children, grandchildren and
great grandchildren. After feasting on all of Mom’s and Dad’s homemade
delicacies, everyone would go home with leftovers.
Alessandro was a very ingenious, astute, motivated, caring and wise man.
He was quick on his feet with math and was a builder of things and a
sculptor of wood. He cleverly devised tools to make jobs easier and was
very organized. He would always say “work with your brains not so much
with your hands.” He built a variety of projects; water fountains and brick
facades for his house, sculpted many statues and built many model boats
out of wood so that each grandchild could have one.
Alessandro and his wife were very devoted to Mother Cabrini, Saint Padre
Pio, Saint Michael Arcangel, Saint Anthony of Padova and the Beatified Pina
Suriano. With his wife at his side, Marianna made several pilgrimages to the
Cabrini shrine in New York City, the church of San Pio in San Giovanni
Rotondo, the church of the Beatified Pina Suriano and the church Saint Rita
di Cascia in Italy, as well as, the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France.
Alessandro is predeceased by his wife Marianna and his dear son Giuseppe
(Peppino), his parents Letizia and Giuseppe and his in-laws Maria and
Antonio as well as his sisters Albertina and Teresa.
He is survived by his four beloved children Carlo and his wife Fina, Letizia
and her husband Gary, Josephine and her husband Carmelo and Ezio and his
wife Dorothy.
Cherished Grandfather to Marianna and her husband Chris, Alessandro and
his wife Lisa, Anthony and Shannon; Evan, Andrew and his wife Monica,
Melissa and her husband John; John and his wife Cari Ann, Tina and her
husband Ryan, Nina and her husband Dennis, Michael and Megan.
Great Grandfather to eleven great grandchildren; Nicholas and Gabriella,
Carlo and Fortunata, Carter, Alex and Gianna, Carly and Drew, and, Christian
and Lia. Loving family member to numerous relatives in New York, New
Jersey and Italy.
Alessandro was a caring and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great
Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and the head of his family in America. We will
forever be remembered for his love, his guidance, his smile, his math
wizardry, his wise words, his delicious recipes and his message to all of us
for family love and unity.
Papa’, may Padre Pio illuminate your path to finding your family in paradise.
Da un forte abbraccio a Mamma’ a Peppino e tutti i nostri cari lassu’.
Continue to be our guiding angel and shower us with all your love from

forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts.
Eterno Riposo Papa’/ Rest in Peace.
