William K. Peuplie, 74, passed away on November 21, 2023.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 8, 1948, to William and Dorothy Peuplie, Bill grew up in Glendale, Queens. In 1972, he and his wife Joanne moved to Lake Ronkonkoma, and later they retired to Florida in 2015.
He attended Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn and studied criminal justice at John Jay College. He joined the NYPD in 1969.
Bill worked as a police officer for 20 years. Starting in Bedford Stuyvesant, he then moved on to Manhattan where he worked narcotics and homicide. He attained the rank of NYPD Detective in 1982 and retired from the police department in 1990T
He loved baseball. It was in his blood and a part of his soul. Bill enjoyed being a baseball coach for many years. He recruited great kids and a great group of parents along the way.
Bill was a social man who enjoyed a beer and would light up at the chance to tell stories about his many friends. If you knew him, you most certainly had a laugh with him. He was proud of the relationships he made over his lifetime and would want us all to remember the wonderful times we shared.
Bill is survived by his wife Joanne who he met at the age of 19 and was happily married to for over 53 years. He is also survived by his children Vicki and Billy, his son-in-law Joe, his grandsons John and Joseph, his sisters Mary Ellen, Patti and his brother Tom.
