William Joseph Maddock Jr.

William Joseph Maddock Jr., a beloved father, son, brother, and friend passed away on February 21, 2023, in Port Jefferson Village, NY. He was 74 years old.

Born on October 1, 1948, in Bay Shore, NY, to William Joseph Maddock Sr. and Paula Elizabeth Maddock (née Henry), William lived a full and meaningful life. He is survived by his two children, William Joseph Maddock III and Alison Maddock, his life partner Gabrielle Hutchinson, Gabrielle’s son George Hutchinson, and his sisters Marykate Maddock, Melody Maddock, and Jolene Maddock-Lesniewski. He was predeceased by his sisters Paula Maddock-Addotta, Sharon Maddock-Perkins, and Bonnie Maddock-Cause.

William spent many years of his life working as a probation officer for Suffolk County Probation, where he was highly respected by his colleagues and those he served. He was a kind and compassionate man who believed in second chances and devoted much of his time to helping those in need.

In addition to his work as a probation officer, William was also known for his generosity and dedication to volunteering at John’s Place Homeless Shelter in Greenport, NY. He was deeply committed to serving the community and making a difference in the lives of others.

William will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring and selfless individual who made the world a better place.

A wake service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Moloney Sinnicksons Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Manorville, followed by burial at St. Agnes Cemetery in Greenport.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John’s Place Homeless Shelter in Greenport, where William dedicated so much of his time and energy. William will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
