It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill” J. Sajnacki, a beloved father,
grandfather, and friend. William peacefully departed this world at the age of 82 at Good Shephard
Hospice in Port Jefferson, New York on January 9, 2024.
Born on February 9th, 1941, William grew up in Carle Place, New York. He was the son of Joseph and
Nina Sajnacki. After graduating from Carle Place High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He
was stationed in Singapore and was honorably discharged in _ __1962_______.
William had a long career at Veeco Instruments where he was ___Head Service Manager________ for
decades. He had an opportunity to travel the world and it is through these experiences that allowed him
to connect with people from all walks of life and different cultures. During his tenure with Veeco he was
able to work with NASA on the Lunar missions, and Ford Motor company, as well as a variety of
companies throughout the world.
Outside of work and travel, William loved good conversation, cars, music, and friends. He had a passion
for gardening and was known for his unparalleled ability to restore functionality and breathe new life
into broken objects. He had a resourcefulness that will continue to inspire generations to come.
William is survived by his daughter Susanne Grafton, his son William M. Sajnacki, his grandsons Liam and
Jayce Sajnacki and his granddaughters Nina and Sydney Grafton. He also leaves behind his partner
Carmen Muno. A lifetime animal lover, William is also survived by his two cats , Jackson and Molly Sue.
