Virginia Marie Salerno

With heavy hearts we share the news that Ginny passed away from her battle with breast cancer January 17th 2025. She was 76 years old.

She died peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side at East End Kanas Hospice Center in Westhampton Beach.

Before she was ever diagnosed, she raised millions for those battling breast cancer and their families through her LI2Day charity on Long Island. Ginny dedicated her life to helping people with a disease she never knew she would one day have. It is one of the countless reasons she was so, so loved by her family and community.

Virgina Salerno (Sciara) was preceeded in death by her parents, Stephen and Maria Sciara. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Salerno, her three sons, Michael Salerno (Cherie) Peter Salerno (Christy) and Matthew Salerno (Sara). Her four grandchildren, Kyle Salerno, Katelyn Salerno, Christopher Salerno and Joseph Salerno. Her sister Stephanie Sciara, and nieces Marisa Feeney (Kris), Lauren Glaser and grand-nephew Joshua Feeney . 

A celebration of Ginny’s life will be held at Maloney-Sinnickson Funeral & Cremation Center, 203 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY 11934 – February 8th 2025 within the hours of 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
