Vinny Stano, was born in 1929 in Manhattan NY. He grew up on the upper east side Of Manhattan in a tough neighborhood with his big brother Phil & little sister Terry. The boys were inseparable from an early age and the friendship continued that way through most of their lives. When his big brother Phil passed in 2019 they only lived 5 miles apart.He had a love of aviation from the time he was a young child. He could identify planes flying overhead. He built model planes at home and hung them up in his small room, only if they were perfect replicas. He went to Heron Aviation High School to pursue his love of Aircraft. He left High School at 17 to join the Army-Aircore (aka Airforce). He was stationed in Alaska and fell in love with Travel and adventure which he never lost. When he was discharged he met his future wife Syl in 1949 and married the following year. They were married 72 years before he was widowed. In those 72 years they had an exciting life, 3 children – Vinnie, Vikki & Cindy. They lived in 6 different homes over that time, sharing many laughs and fun times with extended family. Friends,family and Dogs were always welcome. He enjoyed his 6 grandchildren Bryan,Cassie, Kim,Wes, Kyler and Michael along with his 8 great-grandchildren, Finn, Kennedy, Aurora, Wallace,Emerson,Crosby, Hannah and June. They all brought him sunshine with each visit. He was always up for company which continued until the very end of his life.
He was 94 years young. Though his body was old, his spirit was young until the very end.
