Veronica A. (Ronnie) Black (Feb. 18, 1942-Jan. 23, 2020) died after a brief illness in her 77th year. A Seton Hall High School graduate and a graduate of St. John’s Nursing School in Long Island City, she went on to become a R.N. for more than 30 years at Brookhaven Hospital and a flight nurse as a Captain in Air Force Reserves. She sang with the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Folk Group as well as with the Heart of Long Island Choral Group. The daughter of Edward Black and Virginia Black formally of Holbrook. She is survived by her loving brothers and sister John Black (The Late Mary Ellen), Gregory Black (Gail), Marita Sager (Tom), and many nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers: donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Veronica’s name.
