Thomas G. Zolzer

Thomas Zolzer, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Stony Brook Medical Center on Saturday, October 14^, 2023. Thomas was born January 30, 1947, to his mother, the late Catherine Zolzer and his father, the late Daniel (Howie) Zolzer. Thomas was a son, a friend, a marine, a police officer, a husband, a father, and a grandfather.  In the year of 1970, he married Susan Walsh spent 13 years happily married raising four children together until Susan’s untimely death in 1981.  Then lighting struck his heart again when Thomas met Linda Liccese in 1982, Thomas’s 5^th child was born, Thomas and Linda married in 1989 and spent 34 years together raising their wonderful family. Thomas was a proud patriot, a marine who served his country from 1964-1968. A Nassau County Police Officer for 20 years and after retirement in 1989 became a small business owner for the next 20+ years. After his second retirement from his business Thomas enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Linda, his family, his friends; whether golfing or enjoying a cold beer laughing, reminiscing, and swapping stories.  Thomas loved to laugh and had the most giant heart, anyone he cared about knew he would be loyal to the end and do anything for them. He is survived by his adoring wife Linda, 5 children, Kristen, Thomas, Brian, Michael, and Joseph, in addition to his 8 grandchildren: Amelia, Matthew, Makenna, Rebecca, Keira, Jason, Joseph, and Jack. There will be a funeral service held for Thomas on October 20, 2023, at Calverton National Cemetery. Please feel free to attend if you would like to pay your respects.
