Susan C. Hinrichs

Susan C. Hinrichs, 94, of Morrisville, VT passed away peacefully at her home Friday, December 8, 2017. She was born October 29, 1923 in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of Edward and Margaret Shields Myers. She married Rudolph Hinrichs on January 7, 1945 in New York City. He predeceased her January 8, 2010.

Susan and her husband, Rudolph, operated the Royal Scarlet Delicatessen in East Moriches, NY for 27 years beginning in 1963 before retiring in 1990. While living in East Moriches, NY, Rudolph and Susan enjoyed attending Our Lady of the Shrine in Manorville where they also volunteered. Following Rudolph’s passing Susan moved to Vermont where she enjoyed the beautiful scenery and enjoyed taking rides through the area. She was a devoted volunteer in the snack bar at her grandson’s hockey games.

She is survived by her children, Judy Chiorando and husband, Tony of Windermere, FL; Gary Hinrichs and wife, Kellie of Wilmington, NC; Rudy Hinrichs and wife, Margaret of Wolcott, VT; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her sister, Alice Guthrie of New Jersey and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was predeceased by a daughter, Suellen Amitrano; son, Richard Hinrichs; a grandson, Christopher Chiorando; and nine brothers and sisters.

Services will be held in Center Moriches, New York under the direction of the Moloney- Sinnicksons Funeral Home; Visitation to be held, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Sts Peter & Paul R.C. Church in Manorville N.Y., Wednesday December 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with interment at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in East Moriches, NY.
