Steven L. Ward

WARD- Steven L., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 20, 2023, at the age of 75.
Steven was born on November 6, 1947, in Queens, NY to David Ward and Eleanor Pofahl. He grew up in the Long Island area and went on to serve his community as a member of the NYPD for 25 years, rising to the rank of detective. Steven was a highly respected member of the NYPD, known for his dedication and commitment to his work.
Steven met the love of his life, Kathleen Ward, at Carvel, and they were married in April of 1969. Together, they had five children: Kevin, Brian John (Virginia), Christopher, Steven D. (Elizabeth), and Laura. Steven was a devoted family man who cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Steven is survived by his sister, Nancy Hepler, and five grandchildren: James, Samantha, Jack, Lily, and Owen. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and by his beloved cat Gary as well.
Steven had a love for life that was infectious. He was passionate about helping others and had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He loved nothing more than enjoying a scoop of vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles with his family.
