Stephanie A. Boshnack

Lake Ronkonkoma, NY – Stephanie A. Boshnack passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2016 at home. She was 69 years old.
Born in Queens, NY on December 3, 1946, Stephanie was the daughter of Harold and Joan (Hodgkiss) Becker. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Lake Ronkonkoma,NY.
After growing-up in East Meadow, NY and graduating from East Meadow High School, Stephanie graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in Education. Stephanie married Marvin Boshnack on December 3, 1994 who predeceased her on September 18, 2016.
Stephanie was a courageous, generous, selfless, and loyal friend to all who were lucky enough to know or work with her. She was employed at the East Meadow Public Library, retiring in 2012 after more than 48 years of service.
Stephanie was an avid fan of motion pictures and was especially known for her life-long love of animals. Stephanie was predeceased by her parents and husband. Stephanie is survived by her siblings Paul Becker of Poughkeepsie, NY, Kevin Becker (Carol), Hyde Park, NY, Cheryl Becker, Hyde Park, NY, and Laurie Murray-DeSantola (Richard) of Pleasant Valley, NY. She is also survived by her nephews, John H. Becker of Poughkeepsie, David R. Becker of Boston, MA and Alyssa Joan Murray of Pleasant Valley. In addition to her grieving relatives, Stephanie will be missed especially by her close friends Susan Pickett and Judy Miccio and family as well as all her friends and co-workers from the East Meadow Public Library. She is also survived by her beloved Maine Coon cats, Missy and Rascal. Stephanie’s family wishes to thank all her caregivers over the past year and a half, especially Terry DeRosa and Cathy Ward of St. James Rehabilitation Facility.
Calling hours for Stephanie will be on Thursday and Friday October 27-28, 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Moloney’s Lake Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 132 Ronkonkoma Ave, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 9AM, at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY followed by a graveside service and interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Center Moriches, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Contributions in memory of Stephanie appreciated to the American Cancer Society or Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center.
