Stella Mary Creegan, “Sta”, was born March 25, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to Magdalena and Ignatius Patronski. She raised her family in Centereach and was a longtime resident of Bretton Woods in Coram. Stella loved the Lord and served him faithfully throughout her life. She cherished her loving husband Michael, her children Maureen, Kenneth and Judith and her beloved grandchildren Samuel, James and Thomas. She counted as her own daughter, Drucy and loved without reservation her three sons-in-law, Ben, Mickey and Jim.
Stella retired after a 60 year career as a medical secretary and then was Nanny to the children of two families for many years. Stella was a committed and selfless volunteer in so many ways. She was a cub scout leader, transcribed books to Braille, kept in touch with home bound people by phone, baked for everyone and so much more. Stella was a past President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 8 and a member of the Holy Rosary Society.
She remained an active member of her Mah Jong group and crocheted blankets for nursing homes until her very end. She is described by her family and many friends as beautiful inside and out. She and her husband Michael were famous for their dancing at home and at events. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed by her family and friends.
