Atkins, CSJ, Sister Catherine (Formerly known as Sister John Ellen ) died peacefully on Thursday February 16, 2017. She was 69 years old and a Sister of St. Josephs for 52 years. Beloved daughter of the late Mary E. and John Atkins. Loving sister of Father James Atkins, a member of the Franciscan Friars of the renewal and the late Patricia Stokes. Adored by her Sisters in Community.
Reposing Sacred Heart Chapel 1725 Brentwood Road, Building 3. Brentwood, NY where the visitation will begin Monday at 2:00 pm and religious service will be held at 6:00 pm. A final farewell ritual will begin Tuesday 10:00 am and funeral Mass will follow immediately. Interment St. Charles Cemetery Farmingdale, NY.
