Santosh Sahni

d. December 31, 2019

Santosh Sahni, age 82 – beloved mother, wife, and friend to so many – left for her heavenly abode on December 31, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with metastatic cancer.

She emigrated from New Delhi, India, to the USA in 1972, seeking better professional and personal opportunities with a young & growing family. She is most known for her work as an English school teacher at all grade levels, given her passion for communication and language as reflected by her academic attainment of a Master’s Degree in English. In addition, she held a position as a Case Management Director for the New York City Human Resources Administration until her retirement in 2002 at the age of 65.

Santosh was considered a true gem to all that got to know her and spend time with her. She had an exceptional ability to reach out to people in a deep and meaningful way, with a sense of compassion and sensitivity about her unlike any other. While she had a passion for things like knowledge, prayer and cooking, her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. Her kids were her life, and she, in return, their pillar.

Santosh is survived by her husband of 53 years, 2 daughters, 1 son and 2 grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those near to her.
