Rose Marie Vaccariello(Corcoran), aged 90, passed away on October 31, 2024 surrounded by her family, in East Setauket, NY. Born on December 5, 1933, Rose Marie(“Bobsie/Bobbie”) dedicated her life to her family and career. Born in The Bronx, Bobsie/Bobbie was a beacon of love and care, always putting her family and friends first. Her grammar school years were spent at St. Luke's School in The Bronx. She graduated high school from the Blessed Sacrament High School in Manhattan. After high school, she spent five years with the Sisters of St. Dominic in Blauvelt, New York. Although she did not take her final vow to become a nun, her devotions were working with the blind and in an orphanage.
Afterward, Bobsie/Bobbie embarked on a career at AT&T as an office assistant, followed by a long tenure at Whitman Packaging, where she worked on the assembly line for Estee Lauder products and eventually retired as a Line Coordinator. She raised her family in Hauppauge, NY and spent her retirement years living in Ridge, NY.
Bobsie/Bobbie married Joseph Vaccariello in 1960, who preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Barbara) Vaccariello of Culver City, CA; Janet (Jim) Forcht of Westfield, NJ; Greg Vaccariello of Las Vegas, NV; Claudia Reindl of East Setauket, NY; Carol (Anthony) Garofalo of Hauppauge NY, and Joann Vaccariello of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Emily and Samantha Forcht, Owyn and Joseph Reindl, Carleigh and Andrew Garofalo; and her brother, Robert (Amanda) Corcoran, along with many nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat, Bella. Her parents, John Corcoran from Galway, Ireland, and Ida (McGuigan) Corcoran, from Maghera, Northern Ireland, and brother John Corcoran, also preceded her in death.
Bobsie/Bobbie was an avid fan of Neil Diamond, the Hallmark Channel, TLC, and cherished the Christmas season. She was an amazing cook, especially known for her Italian 'gravy' and meatballs. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas where she loved playing slot machines and adored spending time with her family. After retiring in 1998, she devoted much of her time helping to care for her grandchildren, Owyn and Joseph. As a young child, Bobsie/Bobbie lived briefly with her family in Northern Ireland of which she had very fond memories. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Saint Thomas Moore Church in Hauppauge, NY. Rose Marie's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
