On January 13, 2023, Rocco Fusco, in his 88th year, passed peacefully and is now in a better place with his wife, family members and dear friends. Rocco (Little Pop/Uncle Rocky) is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Christine Fusco, parents Joseph and Anna Fusco, and siblings, Rosey, Dominick, Joseph, Dolores, Salvatore and Madelyn.
Survived by his sister, Nancy, brother Nicholas, loving children, Vincent Fusco (Donna), Ricky Fusco (Mary), Chris Fusco (Tori Cutchall); his cherished grandchildren, Michael Fusco, Nick Fusco (Samantha), Alana Dwyer (Nick), Vincent Fusco, Jovanna Fusco, Kevin Fusco, Kiera Fusco, Christopher Fusco and Hailey Fusco; his step grandchildren Andrew Miller, Matthew Miller, Jordynn Longo, Joseph Longo and great grandchildren Valentina Fusco, Miles Dwyer and Ocean Fusco.
Rocky, born in the Bronx, NY on February 4, 1935, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, beloved uncle, brother, and trusted friend. Along with his wife Tina, he enjoyed entertaining and opening his home at 7 Colgate St, Port Jefferson Sta. for gatherings such as Christmas Eve, Sunday family dinners, 4th of July celebrations and summer pool parties. He loved to gamble, play the horses (trotters at Roosevelt Raceway and OTB were his preference), playing cards and watching his beloved NY Yankees and NY Rangers.
Rocky was a hairdresser and small business owner by trade. After many years of operating Ricky’s Place Salon in Old Bethpage, NY, he happily retired to New Port Richey, Florida where he and his wife, Tina, lived at Summertree retirement community and loved their riverboat gambling with friends, breakfasts at the Oaks Café and dinner at Argento’s Italian restaurant. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends in NY and Florida.
Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still missed, and very dear. God bless our dad, Uncle Rocky and Little Pop as he rests in peace with his dearly departed loved ones.
