Robert J. Gallagher a lifelong “Long Islander” was called home to God on December 17, 2023 after a long hard fight against cancer. Robert was a proud locomotive engineer for the Long Island Railroad. He was a proud and respected man who was loved by many.
The true loves of Robert’s life were his family. He and his wife Christa (Farrell) -his best friend of 17 years created a beautiful home in Ronkonkoma filled with love and laughter. Together they were blessed with 5 beautiful children, Madeline, Samantha, Robert, Brandon, and Jackson. Robert was a devoted husband and father who would do anything for his family and worked tirelessly to ensure their happiness.
In addition to his wife and five Children Robert is survived by his loving and loyal Mother Hope, his loving big brother Michael (Nicoletta), his brother-in-law Robert (Jamie)and his mother-in-law Linda. He was the adored uncle of Guiliana and Michael Gallagher and Ava and Ella Farrell. He was very much loved by his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Robert was especially close to his Aunt Joyce and cousins Chucky and Michelle. Robert was predeceased by his adoring and adored Father Michael J. Gallagher, and we take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain, and he is with his beloved Father Michael and other family and friends.
His wife Christa would like to thank everyone for all of their love and support the past 2 years, it is appreciated and has not gone unnoticed.
