Obituary:
Robert John Clemens, Jr., 59, known as Bob to close family and friends, passed away surrounded by his family in Port Jefferson, NY on May 11, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna Coyne Clemens, whom he met in the early years of high school while growing up in Northport, NY. He is also survived by his loving children, Robert John Clemens, III, Jeffrey Clemens and Laura Clemens. In addition, he is survived by his daughter in laws, Allison and Patrice Clemens, as well as his six cherished grandchildren: Gabriella, John Paul, Avianna, Madelyn, Christian and Ella. He was the son of the late Robert John Clemens, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Keating Clemens and a loving brother to the late Nancy Hoffsommer. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Clemens, Thomas Clemens, John Clemens and James Clemens. He was a great friend and brother in law to many, as well as a beloved uncle (“UB”) to all of his nieces and nephews. Bob was a well-respected roofer throughout Long Island, and had owned his own successful business for many years. Bob was a simple soul, but was loved by many for his great sense of humor and selfless attitude. One of his greatest pleasures in life was traveling to his upstate cabin in Andes, NY with his closest family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, and loved the outdoors, as well as a cold Budweiser after a hard day’s work. He was also a gifted gardener, which was appreciated by family and friends that were able to enjoy the fruits (vegetables) of his labor. He will be missed by everyone he crossed paths with.
