Robert Bruce Dettling

DETTLING – Robert Bruce: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Bruce Dettling, who passed away on May 10th at the age of 82 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Robert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Robert grew up in Forest Hills and later settled in Kings Park, NY, where he raised his family. He was a loving father to Martin (Amy) and Richard (Yvonne) and an adored grandfather to Maverick (18), Vianna (17), and Jennifer (34) (Frank). Robert was a titan in our world, and his impact will be felt by all who knew him. He was the “freaking best” and was known for his unwavering love and support for his family.
After many years of hard work, Robert recently retired to Margate, FL. He loved spending time with his loved ones and soaking up the sunshine. He was a man who lived life to the fullest and cherished every moment with his family.
Robert will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife of 42 years in a graveside ceremony on Friday at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. The arrangements have been entrusted to Moloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, and the service will begin at 1:30 pm.
Robert’s family and friends are mourning his loss, but they take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched throughout his life.
He will be buried with his beloved wife of 42 years in a graveside ceremony on Friday 10:30 pm at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. Arrangements entrusted to Moloney’s Hauppauge Funeral Home, 840 Wheeler Rd. (Rte. 111) Hauppauge, NY.
