Rickie Rae Walsh

The world has lost an amazing woman, Rickie Rae (Hahn) Walsh at age 70, on April 9, 2022. She had battled cancer 5 times and beat it, but unfortunately, she was not able to beat the 2 brain tumors (from t-cell lymphoma) with her 6th cancer diagnosis.

She leaves behind a beautiful family: her loving husband, John Walsh. Her children: Chrissy and Mike Reilly, John Walsh and Melissa Bradley, James and Doraina Walsh, and Joseph and Anjelica Walsh. Her grandchildren, James Walsh, Mikey, Abby, and Joey Reilly, Peyton Walsh, and Jemma Walsh. Hers and her husband’s siblings: Roxane and Glenn Hicks, Bob and Bugsy Hicks, Dick and Jane Hicks, Cathy Dugan, Tish Walsh, Jim and Colleen Walsh, Karen Hudson, and James and Lori Yander. Rickie is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Alberta Hahn, and her brother Glenn Hahn. She also leaves behind a loving family full of those already passed, plus those living from cousins, to nieces, to nephews, and of course the many friends from all over.

Rickie was born November 19, 1951, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was raised in Burwell, for her early childhood, moved to Lincoln at about age 10, but always held a special place in her heart for Burwell. She loved learning and became a teacher first. She later worked much of her time in New York as a bookkeeper. She traveled the world and lived many places including her hometown in Nebraska, as well as New Mexico and New York.

The world will miss her hugs, her kindness, and her ability to make a friend no matter where she went. She lived by the motto of the more the merrier and she loved to make memories. Her family was her world, and we will carry on the legacy she leaves on this beautiful Earth.
