“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rhonda Lenore Clipperton Bucalo, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Rhonda was born on March 17, 1956, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the first child and only daughter of Ronald and Dorothy Clipperton. She grew up alongside her four younger brothers, Daniel, Ronald, Donald, and Randall, creating cherished memories that shaped her kind and caring spirit.
Rhonda’s journey took her from her childhood home in Minnesota to Long Island, where she graduated from Longwood High School. She pursued higher education at Nyack College and later earned her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University. As a nurse, Rhonda dedicated herself to caring for others, a reflection of her deep compassion and selflessness. After an on-the-job injury ended her career in nursing, she turned her focus to nurturing her family and her faith.
On December 9, 1978 Rhonda married Frank Bucalo, and together they had three children: Frank, Lenore, and Kristen. Her love for her children was immeasurable, and she welcomed their spouses—Tyler, Jon, and Stephen—into her family with open arms, treating them as her own. The loss of her brother Daniel was a significant and deeply felt moment in Rhonda’s life, yet she continued to offer love and support to her family. She also cared for her parents, Ronald and Dorothy, in the final years of their lives with grace and devotion.
Rhonda found her greatest joy in her nine grandchildren: Liam, Brianna, Violet, Benjamin, Madeline, Joseph, Lucas, Jack, and Donovan. Her passion for her faith in Jesus, her love of music, dancing, and spending time with friends brought her happiness and comfort throughout her life.
Even as she faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease, Rhonda found peace in her unwavering faith and the love of those around her. Her resilience and capacity to find joy in the little things were a testament to her strength and spirit.
Rhonda’s legacy is one of love, faith, and perseverance. She leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory and honor the example she set. While her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, we take solace in knowing she is at peace in Heaven, reunited with her parents and her brother Daniel.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.”
