Reinhold Stoll of Mt. Sinai, New York passed away on December 3, 2020, at the age of 91. After several months of declining health, Reinhold died peacefully in his home.
Reinhold was born in Beitigheim, Germany on June 19, 1929, to father Leo and mother Maria. The second oldest of seven siblings, Reinhold helped support the family at a young age of 15 while his father was a prisoner of World War II.
Prior to this, his father had worked with him in a factory to learn the trade of tool and die which became his focus later in the US. He was very dedicated and learned to focus on running. This led to his title of Champion of the four hundred-meter race and he was known for the hometown record as “The White Lightning”. His drive, work ethic and desire to take care of his family led to him immigrating to the United States in 1952 where he began his career as a machinist and invested in many real estate projects.
He sent back to Germany for his beloved Rita Voegele and they married in 1954. The two had three children, Ronald, Susan and Paul. Unfortunately, he was widowed in 1989.
Reinhold remarried in 1993 to Eva Rose and is survived by his wife Eva; children Ronald Stoll (De’bra Stoll), Susan Ellis (Raymond Ellis) Paul Stoll (Christine Stoll), Stepdaughter Cindy Rose Fishon (Mark Fishon) and grandchildren; Carlene, Cristina, Andrea, Diana, Alexa, Garrett, Raymond, Rita, Leo, Karina, Paul, Caitlin, Ava and Kyle.
Reinhold enjoyed always having a project, family, cars, watching “Everyone Loves Raymond” episodes, playing Domino’s, eating German Lintzer Tarts and all of Eva’s wonderful baking.
A visitation is planned for the immediate family during this time of Covid at Moloney Funeral Home in Hauppauge. He will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Smithtown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Reinhold’s lifelong commitment to family and community can make donations to Good Shepherd Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association
