Raymond McEwan Reid, born in Glasgow, Scotland on September 14, 1935, passed peacefully in Quogue, NY on December 17th, 2022. He immigrated to the United States in December of 1955, and became a proud member and subsequent Veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1958-1961. On September 13, 1958 he married the love of his life, Joan Dornsief Reid.
Together, in their nearly 65 year marriage, they created a family that Raymond centered his world around. Raymond was a proud father to his son Raymond, and his wife Valarie, and his daughter Darlene, and her husband John. He was a fantastic grandfather to John and his wife Taryn, Justin, and his wife Kori, Cate and her partner Scott, and Danni and her husband, Tim. He was blessed to see one great grandson, Merit Raymond Donlon, named in his honor. Ray was known for his quick wit and kind heart, and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Wake and calling hours will be at Moloney Sinnicksons Funeral Home, 203 Main St, Center Moriches, NY 11934 on Monday, December 19th and Tuesday December 20th, from 2-4p and 7-9p. Funeral services will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 25 Ocean Avenue, Center Moriches, NY, on Wednesday, December 21st at 9:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Shriners Children’s of New England in honor of Ray.
