Peter J. Rogers Sr.

Peter J. Rogers Sr. died on June 5, 2022 at the age of 86. He was the son of Peter Rogers and Elizabeth (Ahern) Rogers. As an only child, born and raised in Brooklyn, he met and married Marguerite Urbanski prior to moving out to Long Island to raise a family. Peter’s career in the New York Police Department started with a foot post in the Bowery in Manhattan’s 5 Pct., eventually working his way to Highway Patrol Unit No. 2 in Brooklyn and retiring as a 2^nd Grade Detective in the Accident Investigation Squad. Peter’s favorite pastimes included playing golf, boating and fishing and he was a life-long NY Rangers fan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Marguerite Rogers; his companion, Patricia Smith; and his daughter Carol Ann Rogers Iannella. He is survived by his children; Theresa Rogers Anselm (Eddy); Peter J. Rogers Jr. (Maria); and Elizabeth Rogers Delia (Leonard); his four grandchildren; Jonathon, Elyse, Peter and Karolena; and his three great-grandchildren; Jonathon, Avery and Nicholas
