Peter Greenko was a kind person, devoted husband, and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and son.
He was a man who loved his family.
Peter was a lifelong resident of Holbrook, New York where he resided with his wife MaryAnn and their four children in the house that he and MaryAnn built together. Peter and MaryAnn shared a loving partnership and marriage that lasted over 67 years. Their lives together has left a legacy and an example for all of us to follow.
Peter grew up in the Great Depression and at the age of 18 enlisted in the US Army. He served his country during War II in Japan and was truly a member of what is referred to as the “Greatest Generation”. He was ready and willing to lend a hand to his neighbors, friends, and others who had a need.
Peter was a man with a steady faith in God that grew stronger and more vibrant throughout his 95 years of life.
His memory will live on in our hearts.
