Pauline Cordingley, more affectionally known by her family and friends as “Honey”, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2018, in Boulder City, Nevada at the Boulder City Hospital Long Term Care unit where she had resided for the last 2 years. “Honey” was born to Frank Kurtz and Gertrude Rellensman Kurtz on January 29, 1931. The first of two daughters, her younger sister, Gertrude, “Bubby” Scudellari currently resides in Hurst Texas. Honey grew up in Central Islip, New York and graduated as Valedictorian from Central Islip High School in 1949. Three years later she married her High School sweetheart, Allen “Skip” Cordingley. Honey and Skip soon moved into their new home on First Avenue in Central Islip, where they lived for 64 years. Raising their six children Robert, James, Nancy, Frank, William, & Jeffrey. Sadly, Skip and Nancy both passed away in 2016. Honey then moved to the Las Vegas area to be near her oldest son Robert, her sons frequently visited, lovingly assisting in her care, while sharing fond memories of their childhood.
Honey was blessed to have her 6 children, as well as, twelve grandchildren: Adrienne Morpurgo, Michael, Lauren & Eric Smith, Brianne Vogel, Gary & Kaylyn Cordingley, Michael Misuraca, Shannon & Sarah Cordingley, Christopher & Kelly Cordingley. Honey overcame her near life-long physical challenges to raise her six children with fortitude & determination. Despite her physical hardships, she was endlessly happy and made life enjoyable and entertaining for her beloved husband Skip and six children. Her contagious smile and humor will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Honey is now reunited with Skip and Nancy and no longer unencumbered by any physical limitations. We are thankful, blessed, and forever indebted that Honey was our Mom. We love you Mom. We will carry you in our heart, our memories, and in every breath, we take.
