Baran III, Paul John of Hauppauge, NY passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023. Paul was born December 17, 1936 in NY, NY. He was a devoted husband to Mary Patricia Baran for 61 years. Loving father to his children and their spouses Paul J (Janice) Baran IV and Mary Baran (Charles) Janowitz. He had 5 grandchildren, Paul J (Ashley) Baran V, Nicole Baran, Courtney Janowitz, Samantha Janowitz and Allison Janowitz. He is predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents Paul J. Baran Jr. and Lillian Kollar Baran, his brother Raymond (Betsy) Baran and his sister Elsie (William) Coakley.
Paul enjoyed life, cruising, and vacationing. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Paul was a member of the Hauppauge Fire Department for 57 years serving as a Captain and Treasurer for many years. He viewed the fire department as an extension of his family. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Randolph. Paul could always be counted on to lend a hand to anyone in the community. Paul worked for McGraw Hill Publishing company in NYC as a Business manager. Paul was the life of the party, and would always enjoy a nice Southern Comfort Manhattan.
