d. April 1, 2025

Patricia “Patty” Ann Yudain (nee Gaddy) was born in New York City on March 16, 1946 to Orville Wayne Gaddy and Rose Ann Gaddy (nee Accolla). Named Patty in honor of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, it would become one of her favorite holidays of the year. Patty spent her childhood in Port Washington, New York, and graduated from Paul D. Schreiber High School in 1964. She went on to graduate from Ithaca College in 1968 with a BA in Anthropology and went to work for the Firemen’s Fund Insurance Company after graduation. Patty soon moved to Marsh & McLennan in New York City where she served as a Managing Director and ultimately retired after a long and successful career.Patty’s job and enthusiasm for travel took her to many different parts of the world throughout her life. She loved to travel for work and for leisure with family and her cherished friends. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener, and you could often find her spending time nurturing her zucchini and tomatoes, meticulously cultivating her incredible rose bushes or tending to her indoor orchids. Patty was a talented chef, and enjoyed cooking with her friends and family, hosting Thanksgiving, and baking perfectly decorated Christmas cookies for friends, neighbors and family members. Some of her favorite hobbies included cutting and working with stained glass, participating in arts and crafts activities, playing bingo and card games and having passionate debates with her brothers.Patty left this earth in the early hours of Tuesday, April 1, 2025 after a brave three-year battle with cancer. Patty is survived by her younger brother Bill and wife Karen Gaddy (nee Pikoulas), older brother Wayne and wife Cheryl Gaddy (nee Collins), her nieces Holly Gaddy Esteves (Craig Esteves) and Brittany Gaddy and nephew Jeremy Gaddy, as well as several great-nieces and nephews, extended family members and many close friends who love and adore her and will miss her dearly.
