SULLIVAN, Patricia Joyce (Patty) born Bay Shore, NY, June 2, 1949. Passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her husband, a patient in a neighboring hospital room, on May 27,2021, after a long illness. The daughter of Manfred and Marjorie Klawin. Survived by her husband of 47 years, Brian (teacher, U.S, Army Major),daughters Eileen Kirwin (Daniel) and Deirdre Sullivan (-Miller/Bill), grandchildren Trevor and Lily, brothers John (Beth) of Texas and Mark (Karen) of Colorado, and 16 nieces and nephews.

Enjoyed accompanying her husband on extended summer tours of military duty to many posts, most notably, Forts Shafter (HI), McCoy (WI), Riley (KS), Devens (MA) and most often and especially at Fort Eustis (VA). Enjoyed travel to Canada, Mexico, Bermunda, Bahamas and a University of Dayton reunion in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Patricia loved the yearly family Christmas trip to N.Y.C. as well as time spent in Vermont, Tidewater Virginia and the Adirondacks. Pat loved knitting, crocheting, camping, hiking, biking, boating and attending college basketball and football games and professional baseball games. She loved our 3 cats: Calvin, Zoe, and Socks.

A West Islip High School graduate. Played clarinet in the band. Earned an Associate Degree from Suffolk Community College and a member of the Delta Theta Chi Sorority. Earned an L.P.N. Certificate from Columbia Presbyterian School of Practical Nursing in New York City. Past employee of St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson.

Enjoyed spending time at the family condominium near Fort Lauderdale and the company of family and friends at home and away, on many occasions. Patricia was celebrated with a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Center Moriches. She  rests peacefully at Calverton National Cemetery.
