Patricia A. Pivarnik

Patricia Ann Pivarnik (aka: Pat, Patty, Trish), age 79, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Stony Brook Hospital, Stony Brook, NY of Heart Failure. Pat was born August 31, 1942, in Flushing, NY, to Bill and Lee (Cassidy) Shannon, the third of four children. Throughout the years, Pat spent time working as a secretary, electronics assembler, nurse’s aide, preschool teacher and as a private child care provider. She enjoyed puzzles, board games, bowling, amusements parks, murder mysteries and game shows. She volunteered for many years at her local soup kitchen (shout out to the St Anne’s Peanut butter and Jelly Gang), brought Sunday communion to patients in the hospital, participated in local prayer groups, book clubs, and in recent years was on the welcoming committee at her most recent residence, the Hertlin House.  Pat was warm, friendly, loving and made everyone she met feel special. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and her Christmas Card list was the stuff of legend.

Pat is survived is by: her companion of 12 years, Richard Tracy, her daughters Cheryl (Dan) Kunnmann and Michelle Kaliebe, her grandchildren Crystal (Christopher) Kearns and James Kaliebe her siblings Bill (Diane) Shannon, Eileen Bielemeier and Jim (Sylvia) Shannon.

She is predeceased by: her husband of 42 years, Lawrence R Pivarnik, her daughter, Cindy Pivarnik, her parents and her niece Kim Pivarnik
