On April 23, 2020, the sun set on Nilda Luci Montoya (nee Muñoz) for the final time.
The adventures of Nilda began in Santa Fe, Argentina on November 30, 1941, where she was born to her parents, Eduardo Muñoz and Maria Ester Muñoz Gomez.
From a young age, she always enjoyed the adventures that life brings. As a young adult, she wanted to travel the world and, in doing so, led her to her lifelong calling as a Nurse.
After completing Nursing School in Argentina, Nilda set about to explore the world. She left her family and friends in Argentina to begin a new life in the United States.
Settling in New York City, she met her future husband, William Montoya. Together they made their lives together and became a wonderful mother to two grateful children, Edward and Michelle. She deeply adored her four grandchildren, Sienna, Alessandra, Dustin and Adrianna. Each of them will greatly miss their Grandma Nilda.
Nilda enjoyed many trips around the world throughout the years. However, she greatly enjoyed her life’s work as a Nurse. She spent over 30 years working at St. Clare’s Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center providing comfort to those suffering through their worst moments.
Nilda enjoyed the final years of her life in Sunny Isles Beach, FL. Her adventures there led her to enjoy many of what South Florida has to offer…beaches and restaurants.
Always greeting everyone with a smile, she now smiles at all of us from above.
